Cattle sold for beef are raised until they are about 1000 pounds on the hoof.
When skinned and dressed, about 55% remains for hanging (about 550 pounds).

After 90 days of grain feeding, the animals are weighed and delivered to the butcher. Your beef will be ready for pick-up about 3 weeks later.
You pay the butcher $.70 per pound (hanging weight) for cutting, wrapping & waste handling.
There is an additional flat rate charge of $75 per animal for slaughter.

Fed pasture and alfalfa grass/hay only and given 'show calf' grain upon weaning and then again for 90 days prior to butchering.

Your order can be as small as a quarter which will average 225 to 250 pounds.

Calves are with mom on pasture and still on mother's milk. They are 4 to 8 months old with weight ranging from 400 to 650 pounds.
